Apply DIACON-D directly to commodities and feed before storage, top dress it onto already stored commodities, or use it to treat empty storage areas. DIACON prevents stored product insects from emerging during commodity and feed storage through its residual activity. (S)-Methoprene, DIACON-D’s active ingredient, protects stored commodities by disrupting normal insect development processes. Rather than killing adult insects like traditional pesticides, this product uses residual activity to stop larval insects from developing into reproducing adults. When you follow label directions, DIACON prevents adult emergence and blocks new insect generations from establishing. DIACON-D controls insect pests including almond moth, Indian meal moth, lesser grain borer, sawtooth grain beetle, merchant grain beetle, red and confused flour beetle, and other pests that respond to Insect Growth Regulators (IGRs).
Fumigate infested commodities to eliminate existing insect populations after filling bins or storage facilities, then apply this product for residual protection. Apply DIACON to any food commodity (including cereal grains, corn, sunflower, canola, legumes, popcorn, wheat, spices, sorghum, rice, cocoa, peanuts, oats, millet, and processed foods ready for packing) to control insect larvae. Use DIACON-D to treat bulk or bagged pet food, livestock feed, birdseed, or any other animal feed. Apply DIACON-D to any seed stock. Process treated commodities immediately if needed.
